About the Role

Wealthfront is seeking a Talent Intelligence Analyst dedicated to supporting recruitment efforts across the company, with a sharp focus on the engineering divisions. This position collaborates closely with executive team members company-wide to enhance the quality of hiring decisions.

At Wealthfront, hiring managers are deeply involved in candidate engagement from initial contact through all stages of the recruitment process. The Talent Intelligence Analyst will aid in strengthening confidence about the organizations, teams, roles, and individuals that hiring teams pursue. The emphasis is on quality and precision rather than volume.

An ideal candidate is comfortable forming early judgments with partial information and updating these views as new insights arise. They thrive on gaining deep technical understanding, excel at clear and prompt written communication, prefer being specific even if occasionally incorrect rather than ambiguous, and excel in cross-functional collaboration. Familiarity with total addressable markets is crucial to guide hiring managers accurately on whom to pursue and whom to exclude. Success depends on thorough research, lucid writing, and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update talent maps for essential functions, distinguishing which companies, teams, and products truly generate the required candidate profiles and which are merely adjacent but unsuitable.
• Prepare detailed conviction reports for candidates advanced in the recruitment process, outlining their achievements, supporting evidence, identified risks, and interview criteria to clarify uncertainties.
• Make and justify decisions to exclude candidates, recognizing that screening out unsuitable candidates is as important as progressing others.
• Assist leadership in refining role definitions and requirements using insights derived from talent market analysis.
• Identify passive candidate potential by exploring technical communities, conference presentations, open-source contributions, and published works beyond standard database searches.
• Collect and organize underlying market data detailing talent movement between competitors, indicators of team expansion, compensation and title benchmarks, and concentrations of specific skill sets.
• Contribute actively to refining team methodologies, templates, and sourcing strategies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience delivering written research reports that influenced decision-making, such as in executive search research, talent intelligence, technical sourcing, equity research, consulting, or comparable analytical roles; prior recruiting experience is less critical than demonstrated analytical proficiency.
• Strong systems thinking skills to evaluate discrete decisions and anticipate their consequences.
• Capability to distill complex, unstructured inputs into clear and concise outputs.
• Ability to assess technical backgrounds effectively, identifying key signals from sources like GitHub activity, conference talks, engineering blogs, and career progression patterns.
• Exceptional written communication skills marked by high specificity and clarity.
• Comfort in communicating confidently with senior management about confidence levels and evidentiary needs to update opinions.
• Constructive disagreement skills, including respectfully challenging hiring partners when necessary.
• Possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated yearly salary range is between 110,000 and 140,000 USD, supplemented by equity participation and a discretionary bonus.
