About Immensa
Immensa is revolutionizing the approach of leading energy companies to managing critical spare parts. By leveraging advanced digital inventory and distributed manufacturing technologies, Immensa aids asset-reliant organizations in minimizing excess inventory, reducing downtime, handling obsolescence, and boosting supply chain robustness. The company collaborates with top-tier Oil & Gas and industrial firms where dependability, superior quality, and trust are paramount.
Role Overview
The position entails a practical, hands-on role as a Supplier Quality & Manufacturing Engineer focused on qualifying, auditing, and enhancing Immensa's network of global manufacturing partners. The goal is ensuring suppliers possess both the technical expertise and quality systems needed to deliver top-notch industrial components tailored for the Energy, Oil & Gas, Maritime, and Industrial markets. Unlike desk-based roles, this job involves frequent on-site supplier visits to evaluate actual production capabilities, identify potential bottlenecks proactively, and collaborate directly with production and quality personnel to elevate standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and qualify new manufacturing suppliers via technical capability evaluations and on-site audits encompassing CNC machining, casting, additive manufacturing, fabrication, welding, heat treatment, coating, and inspection processes.
- Perform practical manufacturing process audits emphasizing real production practices over documentation, recognizing bottlenecks and risks prior to production starts.
- Assist suppliers throughout production phases by reviewing process and inspection strategies, leading First Article Inspections, and facilitating root cause analyses (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, PFMEA, SPC) when problems emerge.
- Initiate and drive supplier development efforts targeting enhancements in quality metrics, defect reduction, and growth of manufacturing maturity.
- Plan and implement supplier audits compliant with ISO 9001, API Q1/20S, DNV, ASTM, ASME, and customer-specific standards.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Have 5 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, production, or process engineering roles.
- Demonstrate hands-on familiarity with CNC machining, casting, additive manufacturing, heat treatment/surface finishing, as well as dimensional inspection and metrology techniques.
- Excel in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T conventions, and tolerance specifications.
- Be comfortable analyzing CMM data, inspection documents, and material certification reports.
Additional Advantages
- Experience working with suppliers in the Oil & Gas or Energy fields.
- Certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
- Knowledge of standards including API, DNV, ASME, or ASTM.
- Background in supplier development initiatives or managing global supplier networks.
