Role Overview
The Student Recruitment Advisor will handle student enquiries and enrolments, with a strong focus on meeting recruitment goals while delivering a high standard of service to prospective students and key stakeholders. This is a sales-focused position aimed at helping the college achieve or exceed its new student enrolment targets.
Reporting to the National Sales Operations Manager, you will work to convert enquiries into appointments quickly and smoothly, while ensuring the enrolment journey feels customer-focused and effortless for prospective students. You will collaborate closely with Student Enrolment Advisors across other campuses, as well as the Business Development Team and Short Course Team.
Key Duties
- Manage incoming enquiries and guide them through to enrolment in line with target outcomes.
- Work to secure future enrolments across the campus network.
- Convert sales enquiries into appointments efficiently and without unnecessary delays.
- Deliver a student-centred and seamless enrolment experience.
- Build and maintain a solid understanding of course offerings, employment outcomes, target audiences, and market positioning.
- Stay current with programme updates, learning and education processes, NZQA and TEC requirements, and related policies and procedures.
- Follow TEC rules, the Code of Practice, and all internal company policies at all times.
What We’re Looking For
You should be comfortable working in a people-focused environment and able to understand the needs of modern students. The ideal person can build rapport quickly and communicate in an engaging, authentic way.
Recent exposure to student life or student-focused environments is preferred, as it may help you relate more naturally to prospective learners and support them in choosing an education pathway. A background or strong interest in the creative or technology sectors is also valued.
You should be confident using Microsoft Office tools and willing to learn CRM systems. The role suits someone who is enthusiastic about learning, enjoys helping others succeed, and acts as a positive champion for students. You also need to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, contribute positively to an inclusive team culture, and show initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to manage tasks with limited supervision.
