Role Overview

The Strategic Relations team strengthens connections with influential strategic communities such as U.S. elected officials, senior military and civilian leaders, and international allies to advance Metrea's objectives. This team cultivates a thorough understanding of key stakeholders shaping policy and procurement within relevant markets and delivers analyses of geopolitical dynamics to guide enterprise-wide decision-making.

The Strategic Relations Associate, based out of the Washington, DC office, supports all capability areas and is expected to generate independent, impactful ideas. The ideal candidate thrives in a team environment, is highly organized, adept at building relationships, capable of addressing complex issues, flexible, eager to learn, and demonstrates creativity combined with sound judgment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor significant events influencing U.S. political and policy discussions relevant to Metrea's mission.
  • Support engagement activities involving U.S. and international government officials and related stakeholders, including preparing briefing materials.
  • Attend external forums such as Congressional hearings and think tank events to capture and summarize essential insights.
  • Research legislative proposals and governmental actions at federal, state, and local levels that impact defense, security, and disaster response priorities.
  • Manage logistical arrangements for meetings, including scheduling, drafting and tracking invitations, and coordinating catering services.
  • Assist in the recruitment, mentorship, and task coordination of interns within the DC office.
  • Perform additional duties as required within the Americas Market Group.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven ability to communicate and operate effectively in fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic settings.
  • Strong results orientation accompanied by analytical problem-solving, adaptability, and innovative thinking in ambiguous scenarios.
  • Well-honed judgment, intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Metrea’s mission themes, operational landscape, and capability offerings with a strong willingness to expand knowledge.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution and prioritize outcomes alongside processes.
  • Creative problem-solving skills capable of performing effectively despite resource limitations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with capacity to troubleshoot intermediate software issues.
  • Experience in professional interactions with senior leadership within the national security community.
  • Prior work experience in the U.S. Legislative or Executive Branch is preferred.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is mandatory.

Additional Position Information

This full-time exempt role typically operates Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with potential schedule changes based on departmental needs. Employees must be available on call as required. The job is office-based with travel constituting approximately ten percent, mainly local trips to Washington, DC events.
