Role Summary
The Startup Program and Experience Lead is responsible for owning the entire startup customer journey during onboarding and trial phases, ensuring startups successfully adopt and engage with Notion to derive value early on. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Partnerships to develop scalable startup programs and engagement initiatives that drive activation, conversion, retention, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance startup activation, engagement, conversion, and retention across the regional startup funnel.
- Develop and manage scalable onboarding and lifecycle programs tailored for startup customers.
- Design startup-focused educational and engagement experiences to help customers quickly realize the platform’s benefits.
- Identify and address friction points to improve the overall startup customer journey.
- Support various startup initiatives including campaigns, events, and ecosystem programs within the region.
- Monitor and analyze program performance metrics to optimize customer engagement and increase annual recurring revenue.
- Contribute to building operational frameworks for Startups 2.0, including automated scorecards to highlight top startups and facilitate a high-touch experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Background in program management, customer experience, customer success, growth, operations, or startup-focused roles.
- Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
- Strong empathy for customers combined with an operationally driven mindset.
- Experience working collaboratively across Product, Marketing, Partnerships, and Customer Success teams.
- Data-driven approach with the ability to identify patterns, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity and willingness to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, although deep AI expertise is not mandatory.

- Previous experience with startups or startup ecosystems.
- Familiarity with onboarding, lifecycle management, or customer engagement initiatives.
- Knowledge of product-led growth methodologies.
- Experience creating scalable operational processes or customer programs.
- Interest in AI, productivity tools, and future workplace innovations.

Compensation Details
Compensation is competitive and varies based on factors such as location, role complexity, and candidate experience. The expected base salary range for this position in San Francisco is $140,000 to $205,000 annually.
