Social Media Associate

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Social Media Associate for a long-term volunteer position requiring a weekly commitment of 3 to 7 hours. This role involves contributing to the creation of a compelling and effective social media strategy designed to enhance engagement and outreach.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and actively participate in developing an innovative and impactful social media approach.
• Design and implement social media posts and campaigns, managing direct messages, tags, comments, and other audience interactions promptly.
• Work towards increasing audience size and engagement across various social media platforms.
• Regularly refresh social media posts to integrate relevant keywords, improving search engine visibility.
• Participate in bi-monthly group meetings, which are primarily conducted online.
• Provide social media coverage for any local events as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• At least two years of experience in social media engagement and content creation.
• Self-driven with leadership qualities, strong written and spoken communication, and excellent time management skills.
• Deep interest and knowledge of climate change and sustainability topics at both local and global scales.
• Able to work autonomously and collaboratively within a remote and online team environment.
• Proficiency with Canva, Facebook, Instagram, X, and Threads platforms.
• Photography skills are considered an additional advantage.
• Candidates with backgrounds in marketing, communications, advertising, or media should include their portfolio and detailed experience when applying.
