Role Summary
The company is looking for an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee the construction of a mid-rise residential project located in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history in managing mid-rise residential developments and experience with brownfield site redevelopment.
This position demands a proactive leader who can coordinate all onsite operations while upholding top standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and schedule adherence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise daily construction activities from mobilization to project completion.
- Create and manage both short-term and long-term construction schedules.
- Coordinate efforts among subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and inspectors.
- Ensure construction complies with drawings, specifications, local building codes, and contractual obligations.
- Lead on-site safety protocols, ensuring compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and site inspections.
- Maintain high-quality standards and manage quality assurance and control procedures.
- Facilitate municipal inspections, third-party testing, and occupancy certification processes.
- Oversee site logistics including deliveries, equipment, and materials storage.
- Review shop drawings and resolve construction conflicts.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to monitor schedule, budget, and manage changes.
- Prepare daily site reports detailing manpower, weather conditions, progress, and issues encountered.
- Identify potential project risks and devise mitigation plans.
- Manage the correction of deficiencies and project turnover.
