About Nielsen and Gracenote Sports

Role Overview
You will be part of the Sports Tooling team, a committed scrum group of six developers. The team develops sports data entry and distribution tools serving numerous content operators globally.
Key tools include:
- Teamsports Application: An Angular front-end coupled with a Java backend and MS SQL database, enabling entry of diverse sports data (Cricket, Football, Volleyball, etc.) as per client requirements.
- Supporting Applications: These encompass Sports Entity Management, Global Sports Data Explorer, QC Dashboard, and other solutions managing comprehensive sports datasets.
Upcoming projects involve onboarding emerging sports like Ice Hockey from basic to advanced levels within the tooling, integrating leagues and other entities into Sports Entity Management, and enhancing front-end queuing capabilities using Indexed DB, AWS SQS, alongside rigorous load testing to ensure dependable performance.
Working Environment
- International clientele including FIFA, IOC, Eurosport, and Comcast.
- Agile and Scrum methodologies guide the development workflow.
- Utilization of cutting-edge technologies such as Angular, Java, MS SQL, React, Node.js, and AWS Lambda.

Candidate Profile
- At least 7 years of professional programming experience.
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with Java.
- At least 1 year experience with Angular framework.
- Familiarity with ES6, AWS services, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Practice of writing unit tested code and Playwright regression tests as part of regular development.
- Strong team collaboration skills and energetic approach to work.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Good communication abilities, with proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (B.E/B.Tech/BCA/MCA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MS SQL database and Playwright test automation tool.
- Knowledge of APIs and data formats like JSON(P) and XML.
- Affinity towards sports and related domains.
- Comfort working within Scrum frameworks.
- Interest in software architecture and problem-solving discussions.
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure concerning development, deployment, and cloud technology adoption (IaaS/PaaS).
