Role Overview
We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer with a strong backend focus to join our Agent Development team working on AI-driven financial close automation. Your main responsibility will be developing and maintaining Python backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that enable AI agents. Proficiency with containerization and Kubernetes deployment is required, alongside the ability to assist frontend tasks using Angular when necessary. The role demands full-stack delivery with emphasis on backend expertise.
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain scalable RESTful APIs and microservices utilizing Python and FastAPI.
- Create asynchronous task processing frameworks employing Redis/Celery or alternative messaging systems like RabbitMQ or SQS.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas, migrations, and query executions for agent states and auditing.
- Containerize applications with Docker and deploy them within Kubernetes (AKS) environments.
- Collaborate with the Tech Lead to integrate backend services with the agent orchestration engine.
- Define API contracts encompassing OpenAPI specifications, version control, and communication protocols among services.
- Execute frontend improvements and contribute to Angular UI features as part of comprehensive full-stack efforts.
- Lead detailed low-level system design involving component architecture, data modeling, and API design; articulate and justify technical decisions during planning and review sessions.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) in backend or full-stack software development.
- Advanced skills in Python programming, particularly with asynchronous REST frameworks such as FastAPI.
- Proficient in PostgreSQL with an emphasis on schema design, querying, indexing, and database migrations.
- Experience using Redis and Celery or equivalent messaging queue systems for task management.
- Strong understanding of REST API design, OpenAPI standards, and microservice communication techniques.
- Familiar with Azure DevOps CI/CD processes, Git version control, and agile sprint methodologies.
- Working knowledge of Docker containerization and Kubernetes deployments, including services, configurations, and resource management.
- Competence in Angular and TypeScript for performing frontend bug fixes and feature additions.
- Ability to design complex system components, considering trade-offs like synchronous vs. asynchronous processing, data storage choices, and service architectures.
- Comfortable operating in AI-focused team environments and a readiness to learn Large Language Model (LLM) tools and agent frameworks.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience with Identity Provider integrations and OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect protocols.
- Knowledge of API Gateway architectures including authentication, rate limiting, and routing.
