About the role
Kiya.ai is hiring a Senior QA Automation Engineer for its Chennai team. This role is part of an international Agile setup focused on delivering dependable enterprise software with strong quality controls, smooth releases, and ongoing process improvement. The position is centered on automation, API validation, and building test assets that support stable product delivery.

What you will do
- Study business and system requirements and translate them into practical test strategies.
- Create and run test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
- Build and support automated test scripts using Playwright and Postman.
- Carry out functional, regression, integration, API, and database testing.
- Check application data using SQL and MongoDB.
- Track down defects, record them, follow them through, and confirm fixes.
- Review logs and diagnostics with tools such as Kibana and Dynatrace.
- Work closely with cross-functional Agile teams to help deliver high-quality releases.
- Keep testing documentation current and help expand automation coverage over time.
Must-have experience and skills
- At least 7 years of experience in software testing.
- Strong background in QA automation.
- Practical hands-on experience with Playwright.
- Solid API testing experience using Postman.
- Working knowledge of SQL and database testing.
- Hands-on JavaScript experience for automation scripting.
- Experience using Git and GitLab.
- Strong command of functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Clear written and spoken English communication.
Nice to have
- Exposure to MongoDB.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or Octane.
- Experience with Dynatrace.
- Knowledge of Kibana for log analysis.
- Understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD).
- Exposure to CI/CD workflows.
- Experience in release coordination.
