Overview
The role involves comprehensive project planning, scheduling, progress tracking, verification, and reporting activities essential for the successful completion of assigned projects from start to finish.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee detailed planning and scheduling for large-scale Oil & Gas projects, including both brownfield and greenfield initiatives such as gas processing plants, refineries, and pipelines.
- Conduct project control activities encompassing forecasting, trending, risk assessment, variations and claims analysis, and progress verification throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage EPC project phases including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, ensuring coordinated pre-commissioning and commissioning planning with system handover strategies.
- Plan and coordinate shutdown schedules covering all stages: preparation prior to shutdown, execution, and post-shutdown operations.
- Utilize advanced project control software tools including Primavera for scheduling and monitoring, with preferable skills in Primavera Risk Analysis and Power BI to enhance analytical reporting capabilities.
Experience and Skills Required
- At least 15 years' proven experience in project planning within the Oil & Gas sector focused on large capital or portfolio projects.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working with National or International Oil Companies preferred.
- Familiarity with EPC project lifecycle management including various project phases and shutdown activities.
- Working knowledge of project control software, strong MS Office proficiency, and preferably experience with Primavera Risk Analysis and Power BI.
- Prior professional experience in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries is advantageous.
- Strong analytical thinking and reporting skillset to interpret project data effectively.
Educational Background
Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in an Engineering discipline is required. Certification as a PMP or equivalent professional membership is preferred.
