Role Overview
The Senior Operations Manager will oversee and drive the operational performance of a substantial built environment portfolio. This role is tasked with ensuring top-tier standards in daily operations, maintenance, and service delivery while fostering strong relationships with multiple stakeholders and regulatory bodies. The successful candidate will champion operational improvements, efficiency initiatives, and compliance, and will play a vital leadership role in mentoring a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities
- Steer daily operations and asset management for the assigned portfolio, ensuring optimal performance and service quality.
- Create and initiate operational strategies, policies, and programs to maximize efficiency and implement service enhancements.
- Manage external service partners and contractors, ensuring they meet contract requirements, KPIs, and agreed service levels.
- Oversee budget preparation, financial tracking, procurement, and contract management to maintain cost effectiveness.
- Promote and implement preventative maintenance plans, sustainability drives, and asset value improvement projects.
- Ensure organizational compliance with relevant statutory, regulatory, Workplace Safety & Health, and environmental legislation.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, partners, and service users.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a cross-functional operations team to meet strategic and operational goals.
- Address, investigate, and resolve operational issues and incidents; implement preventive and corrective solutions as needed.
- Generate detailed reports and operational reviews for senior leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Building, Real Estate, Engineering, Business Management, or closely related fields.
- 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in operations, property, facilities, or estate management.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing contractors, and collaborating with multiple parties.
- Comprehensive understanding of maintenance operations, contract administration, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
