Senior Offshore Installation Supervisor

Vacancy Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Installation Supervisor specializing in offshore projects to join a client based in Qatar. This is a residential contractual role focused on overseeing offshore installation activities within the oil and gas sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field from an accredited university or a Diploma in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering, or equivalent educational background supplemented by relevant certifications in Safety, Quality Control, and Construction disciplines.

Professional Experience and Skills

• At least 12 years of hands-on experience managing offshore installation supervision for EPIC projects including oil and gas production platforms, wellhead platforms, jacket structures, and relevant construction and material inspection tasks.
• Strong computer proficiency alongside proficient communication and technical writing skills.
• Proven involvement in FEED and EPIC project stages with the ability to review and approve contractor submissions effectively.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry engineering standards, alongside quality control, safety regulations, and environmental protocols.
• Substantial experience in supervising and assessing lifting operations and activities.
• Highly skilled in interpreting and evaluating method statements, inspection and test plans, project construction schedules, and technical drawings.
• Capable of recognizing potential issues or bottlenecks and recommending viable solutions.
• Experienced in supervising diverse, multinational teams of contractors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor contractors during engineering phases while reviewing and approving construction documents within PDMS software.
• Participate in engineering workshops including Constructability reviews, SIMOPS, Schedule Risk Analyses, 3D Model reviews, HAZOP sessions, and Lifting Plan evaluations to ensure compliance with client standards.
• Monitor offshore installation work, ensuring adherence to standards, specifications, and approved plans.
• Track contractor performance including manpower, equipment usage, construction progress, and report any deviations or issues.
• Serve as the Risk Management representative focusing on identifying and mitigating construction-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with senior discipline engineers during all project stages, including detailed engineering and procurement.
• Review and approve contractors’ construction plans, schedules, methods, and logistics strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive daily progress documentation and communicate irregularities or breaches to supervisors with recommended corrective measures.
• Oversee work permit management to enforce contractor compliance with safety and procedural requirements.
• Coordinate all mobilization and demobilization arrangements for contractors and subcontractors at offshore sites post-contract award.
• Facilitate collaboration among various contractors, projects, and departments, maintaining effective liaison especially with Production and Maintenance teams.
• Assist in drafting new standards, specifications, and guidelines, while revising existing corporate documentation.
• Exercise decision-making authority on project issues within the contractual and procedural framework, under guidance from the Head of Construction.
• Assume responsibility for all off-hours matters related to construction during project execution.
• Ensure efficient site management of construction and pre-commissioning activities aligning with corporate policies.
