Overview
We are seeking a Senior Games Data Analyst based in Saudi Arabia to join a dynamic, remote-first team. This advanced analytics role focuses on transforming intricate player and product data into valuable insights aimed at enhancing game engagement, retention, monetization, and overall player satisfaction.
This position involves close collaboration with teams across Product, Game Operations, Marketing, CRM, and Engineering, influencing both product and business strategies in a fast-paced, global environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze comprehensive player behavior throughout their lifecycle including acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention, monetization, churn, and reactivation stages.
- Discover growth opportunities and risks through player segmentation, funnel and cohort analyses, retention studies, and behavioral pattern recognition.
- Design and assess A/B tests and experiments by formulating hypotheses, estimating sample sizes, selecting metrics, conducting statistical tests, and interpreting outcomes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of game features, promotions, events, bonuses, and marketing efforts.
- Develop and maintain key performance metrics related to products and gaming across various game titles and player groups.
- Create dashboards, recurring reports, and analytical tools that empower stakeholders to monitor progress and make informed decisions efficiently.
- Investigate significant or unexpected KPI fluctuations, identify root causes, and assess subsequent business impact.
- Communicate complex analytical insights clearly, providing actionable recommendations to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and development teams to define analytical requirements and establish measurement strategies prior to launching new features or initiatives.
- Work alongside Data Engineers to enhance data quality, tracking systems, analytical datasets, and underlying data models.
- Promote uniform analytical standards and methodologies across teams to strengthen consistency.
- Advocate for data-driven decision-making by effectively conveying insights and linking analysis to business results.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, product analytics, or related analytical roles.
- At least 3 years of experience within gaming, online entertainment, betting sectors, financial quantitative research, or comparable high-volume digital product contexts.
- Proficient in advanced SQL and working with large datasets.
- Deep understanding of gaming and product metrics such as DAU/MAU, retention, churn, conversion rates, ARPU, ARPPU, payer rate, LTV, and player value.
- Strong foundation in statistics, hypothesis testing, experimental design, and A/B testing methodologies.
- Experience using Python or R for data analysis, statistical modeling, and automation tasks.
- Hands-on knowledge of BI and visualization tools including Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Apache Superset.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouses like Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
- Experience designing event tracking schemas and validating data accuracy.
- Exceptional analytical thinking with the ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of presenting complex analysis clearly to varied audiences.
- Strong multi-tasking capabilities to handle several analytical projects independently in a fast-moving environment.
- Publication experience in statistics-related research journals indexed in SCI is an advantage.
- Meticulous attention to detail paired with a practical, results-oriented approach to analysis.
