About the Role
Mitie is seeking dedicated security professionals to join our nationwide Security Guard teams for an exciting new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This position offers the chance to actively contribute to community safety across the UK as a vital member of a focused and professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard DWP staff, visitors, and assets by maintaining a secure environment.
- Conduct regular patrols of premises to detect potential risks and threats.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies or suspicious activities.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as necessary.
- Deliver excellent customer service by assisting staff and visitors regarding security matters.
- Perform routine security inspections and accurately document incident reports.
- Follow all Mitie and DWP security policies, standards, and regulations.
Health, Safety, and Security
- Identify, report, and address any health and safety risks or hazards present on site.
- Remain vigilant to environmental changes and potential threats to minimize disruptions or damage.
- Exercise sound judgment and initiative, involving others immediately if situations escalate.
- Maintain professionalism even during challenging interactions or situations.
- Record detailed notes promptly after incidents to support official reporting.
- Adhere strictly to schedules, demonstrating commitment to both Mitie and the client.
- Immediately notify emergency services and the Communication Centre about all incidents.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working in security roles.
- Possession of a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence, with a preference for the Door Supervision (DS) licence.
- Holders of a full UK driving licence.
