Security Guard Shift Leader

Role and Team

As a Security Guard Shift Lead, you will ensure the professional and effective security of our site. During your shift, you will be responsible for creating a safe environment for all staff members at our logistics centre. You will coordinate personnel scheduling and provide professional leadership to security guards during your shifts. Working alongside an international team of security experts, you will assist in crime prevention and investigation activities, actively protecting our corporate values and strengthening the security culture at our location.

• Lead and guide security guards professionally, ensuring smooth operational procedures within your shift.
• Organize personnel assignments to various duties, create coordinated leave schedules to maintain sufficient staffing at all times, and communicate daily tasks to your team to achieve ambitious goals.
• Collaborate with your team and an external security service provider to manage access control, monitor the premises with video surveillance, maintain alarm and emergency call systems, and take responsibility for locking the site. You will also supervise access rights and manage key control for guests and external partners.
• Implement numerous security checks based on our operational guidelines, including personnel inspections when entering or exiting operational areas, locker and vehicle inspections, and speed monitoring on the yard.
• In response to alarms, coordinate with external rescue and security services, carry out protective measures, and handle theft prevention efforts.
• Secure evidence and prepare reports when rules are violated, observe suspicious persons, intervene in criminal acts, administer first aid if necessary, and initiate fire protection procedures.
• Participate in project activities aimed at continuously improving site processes.
• Take full responsibility for your shift, maintain regular communication with the Security Specialist and fellow shift leaders, continuously expand your knowledge and skills, contribute ideas, and support the introduction of new security measures to enhance workplace safety.

Requirements

• You have completed certified training as a security professional (including examination by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce) or have equivalent qualifications as a security specialist.
• At least 2 years of professional experience handling people and managing administrative tasks.
• Additional certifications such as First Aid and/or Fire Protection are desirable.
• You possess strong teamwork skills, high motivation, and both physical and mental resilience.
• You present yourself confidently, make decisive decisions, and willingly take responsibility for your team.
• You are comfortable learning new software and eager to work with Google Workspace, various apps, and web tools to oversee and optimize all processes.
• You have good communication skills and can effectively share knowledge with colleagues, adapted to their understanding levels.
• Proficiency in German (spoken and written) and basic English skills at A2 level for smooth team communication and excellent service delivery.
