SAP FICO Consultant

Overview and Key Responsibilities

This role involves providing comprehensive functional support for SAP FICO within a live SAP ECC environment. The consultant will handle daily SAP FICO support tasks, including investigating and resolving finance-related incidents, service requests, and business challenges. They will conduct root cause analyses and implement appropriate solutions to ensure seamless operations. Close collaboration with business users to address process questions and identify system enhancement opportunities is essential. Meeting service level agreements for timely issue resolution forms a critical part of the role. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to SAP change management processes, including testing and rollout activities.

Expertise in SAP Finance and Controlling

The position requires deep knowledge and configuration experience across various SAP Financial Accounting components such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, banking and electronic bank statements, financial postings, tax and compliance, as well as period-end and year-end closing tasks. On the controlling side, expertise is needed in Cost Centre Accounting, Internal Orders, Profit Centre Accounting, cost allocations and assessments, alongside reporting and analytical functions.

Enhancements and Project Involvement

The consultant will analyze business needs and translate these into effective SAP solutions. This includes preparing functional specifications for development or enhancement work, configuring SAP FICO systems accordingly, and performing various testing phases, including unit, integration, and supporting user acceptance tests. The role requires collaboration with ABAP developers, SAP technical teams, and other functional consultants as part of upgrading, project implementation, and ongoing improvements within SAP.

Integration and Cross-Module Coordination

Understanding the integration between SAP FICO and other modules such as Materials Management, Sales and Distribution, Project Systems, and Plant Maintenance is important. The candidate will investigate and resolve issues spanning multiple SAP modules and provide support for comprehensive business processes involving finance.

Stakeholder Engagement

Building and maintaining close relationships with finance business users, process owners, and key stakeholders are crucial. The consultant will offer SAP guidance aimed at improving business processes, participate in requirement gathering workshops, and ensure alignment between business needs and SAP solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, IT, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• SAP FICO certification is advantageous.
