Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate your team through example and daily mentorship.
  • Assist the Store Manager in coaching team members to build their skills and knowledge.
  • Drive a superior customer experience and customer service excellence.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture within the store.
  • Support inventory management ensuring accurate stock control and adherence to stock integrity processes.
  • Oversee visual merchandising to maintain high standards of product presentation.
  • Stay informed about pet care, products, and services to actively contribute knowledge.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and induction of qualified new team members.
  • Create and nurture a positive, engaging workplace culture where the team enjoys their work environment.
  • Engage with local marketing initiatives and sponsorship opportunities to support store visibility.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in a comparable store leadership position or readiness to advance in retail management.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on building motivated, high-performing teams and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage conflicting priorities to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Commitment to promoting and maintaining safe work, health and safety practices.
  • Solid business understanding and acumen.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a changing work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to establish rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
