Job Role and Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial and administrative activities related to the lab's research grants, including management of NRF Fellowship funds, ensuring accurate budget tracking, monitoring expenses, and fulfilling compliance reporting obligations to funding bodies and the university.
• Facilitate procurement processes, handle recruitment and onboarding logistics, and manage day-to-day laboratory operations by coordinating with university administrative units and external vendors.
• Provide administrative assistance to the Principal Investigator in managing schedules, correspondence, and preparation of necessary reports and documentation; monitor project milestones actively and highlight any risks or delays to ensure smooth progress.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Possession of a PhD in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related discipline.
• Prior experience in managing research grants, procurement, or handling project and office administration preferably in an academic or research institution environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong analytical capabilities, proactive mindset, and effective collaboration skills as a team player.
• Highly proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
