Deskripsi pekerjaan
Role overview
Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank is looking for a Repo Trader to join its Treasury & Investments Group in Abu Dhabi. The group manages funding, investments and centralized risk oversight for the bank, including borrowings, debt issuance, derivatives used for risk mitigation, and investments in instruments such as green bonds, short-term placements, and corporate and sovereign debt securities. The role sits within a workplace culture that emphasizes inclusion, respect and professional development.
What you will do
- Turn secured funding needs, secondary market activity and optimisation goals into day-to-day trading and execution plans by tracking market moves, funding demands and collateral availability.
- Carry out bilateral and tri-party repo as well as reverse repo deals across government bonds, emerging market assets and credit products, including investment grade, high yield and structured credit instruments, while keeping execution quality, pricing and liquidity in line with strategy and approved limits.
- Oversee the repo funding book by managing liquidity, allocating collateral, handling inventory, and balancing long and short positions to improve funding efficiency and reduce cost.
- Quote prices for repo and structured financing trades for both internal treasury teams and external counterparties by evaluating secured funding curves, collateral features, haircuts and counterparty terms.
- Create tailored repo and secured financing structures, including term funding, collateral upgrade and downgrade trades, and balance-sheet-efficient arrangements such as netting and compression.
- Build alternative financing solutions such as total return swaps, collateral swaps, repo-to-maturity and synthetic financing across rates, credit and emerging markets, using derivative hedges and overlays to control risk.
What the bank is seeking
- A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in repo trading, secured financing or structured financing, ideally gained in an international bank or a leading regional financial institution.
- Exposure to emerging market or GCC markets is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or a related field.
- Strong command of repo mechanics and collateral valuation, including less liquid assets.
- Demonstrated success in originating and executing bespoke repo, total return swap and synthetic financing transactions.
- Solid understanding of balance-sheet optimisation concepts such as liquidity coverage ratio, net stable funding ratio, leverage ratio and risk-weighted assets.
- Experience structuring repo and total return swap transactions across the full trade lifecycle.
- Knowledge of conventional funding, credit and derivatives markets, with familiarity with Islamic equivalents considered an advantage.
- Sound commercial judgement along with clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical ability and experience using treasury and related systems or tools.
