About the Role
Join our team at Perle Oban Hotel & Spa located in the scenic seafront town of Oban, Argyll. This historic yet stylish four-star hotel offers a blend of Victorian charm and modern comforts, including elegant rooms, quality dining focused on Scottish cuisine and seafood, and a relaxing spa center. We're seeking a warm and professional Receptionist to become the initial friendly face for our guests, ensuring their experience starts positively and continues smoothly.
Key Duties
- Warmly greet guests and manage the check-in and check-out procedures efficiently.
- Respond politely and promptly to guest questions in person, over the phone, and by email.
- Accurately handle bookings, payments, and billing tasks.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, food and beverage, and other departments to maintain seamless operations.
- Keep the reception and lobby clean and welcoming to all visitors.
- Provide assistance with guest requests, share local insights, and offer personalized services.
- Support the Reception Supervisor or Manager with daily front desk activities as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Prior experience in hospitality or customer service is desirable but not mandatory as full training is offered.
- Excellent communication skills paired with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Strong organizational abilities and a keen eye for detail.
- Comfortable using computers and hotel reservation systems; training will be provided.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve issues quickly.
- A keen enthusiasm for the hospitality industry and creating exceptional guest experiences.
Salary and Benefits
- Hourly wage of 13.45 GBP.
- Additional 1.00 GBP housing allowance for employees who do not require accommodation.
