Role Overview
The Ranger position is dedicated to delivering effective regulatory services to the local community in compliance with legislative requirements and Council policies. This role aims to minimize negative impacts in the local area through enforcement and provides quality customer service that benefits the community.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Possess a Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalent experience paired with ongoing professional development.
- Hold a current Class C driver's license.
- Have or be willing to obtain a valid Construction General Induction Card (NSW Workcover or equivalent).
- Accredited to perform microchipping of animals.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team while consistently adhering to corporate standards.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with staff and the public.
- Experienced in conducting investigations, interviewing suspects, and negotiating resolutions.
- Proficient in handling dogs, cats, cattle, and horses.
- Background in ranger duties, policing, or similar regulatory roles.

- Permanent, full-time role based at the Wyong Administration Building.
- Access to a nine-day fortnight work schedule.
- Starting salary up to $80,030 with opportunities to progress up to $92,727 based on skills and performance assessment.
- Includes 12% superannuation.
- Leaseback vehicle provided for official duties and personal use; choice of vehicle when available, or temporary arrangement of either a pre-used vehicle or a weekly vehicle allowance of $207.31 until supply issues resolve.
