Role Overview

The Quantity Surveyor will operate on-site in Dublin, handling projects associated with lightning and surge protection. This position covers all commercial management aspects from the tendering process through project delivery and completion, ensuring cost efficiency and contract compliance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for various projects.
  • Estimate, plan, and manage project costs, supporting the budgeting process and tracking expenditures to meet financial goals.
  • Prepare valuations and manage cost variations during ongoing projects.
  • Produce accurate cost reports and maintain stringent cost control throughout project delivery.
  • Assist with contract administration and ensure adherence to relevant standards and company procedures.
  • Liaise closely with engineers, project managers, and clients, providing financial insight to inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Prior experience in construction, engineering, or specialized trades (experience in lightning protection or electrical systems is advantageous, but not required).
  • Expertise in BOQ preparation, cost planning, monitoring, reporting, and financial analysis for construction or engineering projects.
  • Competency with MS Excel and proficiency with industry-standard quantity surveying or estimating software.
  • Understanding of relevant Irish and EU standards, regulations, and contract management practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and collaborate on-site.
