Job description
Overview
This internship will immerse you in the fast-paced intersection of financial trading and technology. Joining a small, collaborative team, you'll engage in projects that blend research, risk management, and technology to craft and optimize trading strategies within regulatory constraints. Over a 10-week period, you'll have the chance to present your project findings to senior leadership, gaining valuable experience and insight into the financial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with experienced traders, developers, and quantitative researchers to enhance and develop trading algorithms directly on the trading floor.
- Conduct market research projects that leverage powerful analytical techniques, ranging from macroeconomic data analysis to machine learning applications on tick data for automated trading.
- Manage responsibilities such as position monitoring, risk calculations, and evaluating important theoretical financial metrics.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or PhD in mathematics, economics, physics, statistics, computer science, or any related engineering field, with an expected graduation between December 2027 and October 2028.
- Demonstrated strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, capable of applying these under time constraints.
- Proficient in Python programming language.
- Self-driven, eager to take on challenges and accountability in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
- Genuine enthusiasm for financial markets and keen interest in discovering novel methods.
- Effective communication skills to clearly present ideas within the team.
Internship Experience
- Engage in meaningful assignments guided by a trader mentor, providing practical work exposure.
- Participate in educational, social, and team-building events designed to foster community and explore the city.
- Establish mentorship relationships focusing on career development, challenges, and professional growth, including social outings.
- Complete specialized training, including an options trading course and a technology immersion program that explains the synergy between trading and technology.
