Quality Line Auditor - 3rd Shift

Overview

The Quality Line Auditor role at Ice Industries in Bowling Green, OH involves ensuring products meet established quality standards prior to customer delivery. Reporting to the Quality Manager in the Hourly Quality Control department, the position supports production through detailed product inspection and communication with production teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct continuous product inspections on the production line to verify compliance with specifications and quality benchmarks.
• Perform scheduled quality process checks at gauging stations according to documented customer requirements.
• Detect, document, and report any defects or quality concerns to supervisors and management, halting production lines when critical issues arise.
• Collect product samples for FARO inspection processes.
• Measure parts at gauging stations to assess dimensions, identifying issues such as bow, camber, twist, and flair.
• Monitor line items for physical imperfections including scratches, burrs, and incorrect cutoff lengths.
• Liaise effectively with machine operators to communicate necessary adjustments.
• Coordinate with line personnel to hold parts for quality review during machine events such as line stoppages, feeder faults, press adjustments, or coil changes.
• Evaluate parts under quality review to determine acceptability or need for escalation to Quality Management.
• Provide coverage for packers during their breaks or absences, ensuring packing materials are sufficiently stocked.
• Fulfill additional duties related to quality control and plant support as assigned.

Working Conditions

• Operate safely in a manufacturing environment with direct interaction with machinery and equipment, often under variable ambient temperatures.
• Utilize close, distance, and peripheral vision, along with the ability to adjust focus for effective inspection.
• Perform physical activities including bending at waist and knees, walking, standing for long durations, lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds, stooping, crawling, and stair climbing.
• Availability for overtime, including weekend shifts, to support organizational demands.

Education, Experience & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written, within diverse organizational levels.
• Mathematical competence to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals related to measurements.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and adaptability in dynamic work settings.
• Capability to interpret and execute instructions in written, oral, or diagram formats using sound judgement.

Compensation

Base pay rate is $19.00 per hour with an additional $1.00 per hour shift differential for employees working the 2nd and 3rd shifts.
