Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Inspector plays a vital role at MCI ensuring all coaches assembled meet rigorous quality standards and accurate specifications before delivery to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine coach builds to verify quality and compliance with MCI’s detailed specifications and standards.
- Inspect coach interiors and exteriors to confirm adherence to quality standards.
- Complete and sign off all required inspection checklists and releases following standard protocols.
- Assist the production cell team with quality-related assignments and initiatives.
- Identify, document, and manage non-conforming products, including defect tracking and re-inspect after corrections.
- Proactively investigate recurring defects to decrease rework.
- Review and update work instructions as necessary to improve processes.
- Support root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts when needed.
- Validate production testing procedures and results.
- Provide assistance to senior quality inspectors as requested.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working in a fast-moving production environment is essential.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and MCI quality standards.
- Familiarity with assembly line processes is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with effective communication skills both verbal and written.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Thrives in a high-volume setting managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office applications.
