Quality Assurance Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for a remote contract role offering $30 to $80 per hour. Candidates will contribute 10 to 40 hours weekly, focusing on ensuring the quality of web and mobile applications, including the LINE app.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and update comprehensive test plans, test cases, and relevant documentation to meet project specifications.
• Execute various testing types such as functional, regression, user acceptance, exploratory, and cross-browser testing on web and mobile platforms.
• Carry out thorough API testing and collaborate closely with developers to verify integration points.
• Accurately report, log, and monitor defects using standard defect tracking systems, providing clear and actionable bug details.
• Engage in Agile processes including sprint planning and participate in scrum ceremonies to maintain quality throughout software development and testing lifecycles.
• Work effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring requirements are well understood and fulfilled through strong communication skills.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive manual testing experience on web or mobile applications.
• Expertise in creating and executing test documentation including test cases and plans.
• Proven skills in regression, functional, exploratory, and user acceptance testing.
• Experience reporting bugs, defect management, and cross-browser testing techniques.
• Thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile methodologies.
• Practical experience with API and mobile application testing.
• Exceptional detail orientation combined with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Additional Information

This position is fully remote and on a contractual basis with flexible hours ranging from 10 to 40 hours per week. The compensation rate varies between $30 and $80 per hour based on experience and expertise.
