Quality Analyst - OB/GYN

About the Role

This position is focused on quality review and coding accuracy for OB/GYN medical records. The role supports revenue cycle operations by validating documentation, applying the correct diagnosis and procedure codes, and helping ensure compliant billing outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine patient charts, physician documentation, operative notes, and discharge summaries related to obstetrics and gynecology services.
• Apply the appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for OB/GYN diagnoses and procedures.
• Code services covering prenatal and postnatal care, labor and delivery, gynecological procedures such as hysterectomy and laparoscopy, and infertility treatments.
• Confirm that the medical record contains sufficient support for coding and billing decisions.
• Detect coding mismatches, gaps, and claim denials, then work toward resolution.
• Maintain strong standards for both coding accuracy and productivity.
• Keep current on coding rules, payer requirements, and compliance updates.
• Work with physicians and billing colleagues to clarify unclear diagnoses or procedures.
• Support audit activity and quality assurance checks.
