About the Role

Join WSP, a leading global professional services firm, as a Project Manager specializing in transportation within our Civil Infrastructure team based in Paeroa, Waikato, New Zealand. You'll lead critical roading and transport infrastructure projects for local and central government clients, blending civil engineering expertise with strong project delivery, commercial insight, and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee transportation and civil infrastructure projects from initial scope and planning phases to final delivery.
  • Develop project briefs, fee proposals, delivery schedules, comprehensive reports, tender and contract documentation.
  • Manage project financials including budgets, forecasts, risk assessments, invoicing, and overall commercial performance.
  • Coordinate efforts among clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure timely and on-budget completion of high-quality outcomes.
  • Support contract management activities, including monitoring contractor performance, updating programmes, and ensuring compliance with NZS 3910 contract standards.
  • Foster strong client relationships and assist with tender submissions, service offers, and generating future project opportunities.

Candidate Profile

  • Holds a relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering or related field.
  • Possesses at least five years of professional experience in civil engineering, with a focus on transportation, roading, or associated infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with local authority or central government roading contracts is advantageous.
  • Well-versed in NZS 3910 General Conditions of Contract.
  • Demonstrates proficient project management capabilities including scope definition, programme management, budgeting, risk analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a cooperative and client-centric mindset.
  • Holds a current full clean driver's license.
