Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager specializing in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) to lead multi-faceted construction and development initiatives from start to finish. This position involves coordinating between multiple parties such as clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and governmental bodies to guarantee timely, budget-compliant, and high-quality project completions. Acting as the client's representative, the candidate will provide expert advice, manage project risks, and ensure all project targets are successfully realized.
Key Duties
- Work collaboratively with clients and other stakeholders to establish project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Create detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation approaches.
- Set up governance and communication systems to ensure smooth project monitoring.
- Serve as the main liaison for clients, ensuring their expectations are consistently met throughout the project duration.
- Coordinate with design and construction professionals and other consultants to align on objectives.
- Organize regular stakeholder meetings to track and discuss project developments.
- Manage all phases of the project from design through construction to handover.
- Monitor project progress in line with plans, handle change management, and solve problems as they occur.
- Ensure all activities comply with contractual terms, safety norms, and quality standards.
- Identify and evaluate risks related to finances, operations, and safety, developing plans to minimize their impact.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contract obligations.
- Implement quality assurance measures, conduct site audits, and promptly address shortcomings to preserve project quality.
- Oversee budget management, control expenses, approve payments, and prepare financial summaries for senior leadership and clients.
- Negotiate contract terms, change orders, and variations with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Manage contract preparation and administration, including procurement and subcontract agreements, and resolve any disputes or claims.
- Prepare and submit progress and payment reports and other necessary documentation.
- Ensure complete delivery and formal handover of all project elements to the client, including final inspections and resolving punch list items.
- Compile and provide comprehensive project closure documentation such as as-built drawings, warranties, and operation & maintenance manuals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or similar discipline.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent credential preferred.
- Demonstrated success as a Project Manager within construction or engineering sectors, particularly in PMC roles.
- Experience handling complex, large-scale projects with multiple involved parties.
- Sound knowledge of construction processes, contract administration, and project execution methodologies.
- Strong capabilities in project scope, schedule, cost, and quality management.
- Effective leadership and team coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation proficiency.
- Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera and related construction management tools.
- Capable of risk assessment and conflict resolution.
- Additional certifications like PRINCE2 are considered a plus.
