Role Overview
The Project Coordinator for Data Centers is responsible for overseeing and managing all phases of internal projects related to systems within data centers, from initiation through delivery. This position involves coordinating cross-functional teams including network engineers and data center technicians, defining project requirements, performing feasibility and impact assessments, and ensuring timely and budget-conscious implementation. Projects vary in size and complexity, necessitating detailed resource management, asset tracking, progress monitoring, change control, documentation, and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple technical projects that involve cross-functional collaboration.
- Collaborate with various functional teams during all project phases including planning, design, procurement, deployment, and post-deployment activities.
- Track and manage program milestones, schedules, and overall deliverables.
- Manage assets and materials across data centers and warehouse locations.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation such as schedules, reviews, process guides, and risk assessments.
- Participate in defining project scopes and objectives by engaging all relevant stakeholders ensuring technical feasibility.
- Drive project milestones from concept through completion and support change management initiatives.
- Use KPIs and metrics to evaluate project performance and provide consistent status updates.
- Engage in internal process improvements, identifying gaps and streamlining coordination across multiple teams.
- Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Serve as the primary contact for vendor partners and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate and support regular meetings with core project teams.
- Review post-project outcomes against targets and recommend or implement improvements to delivery processes.
- Perform additional responsibilities as necessary beyond the listed duties.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from an accredited four-year college/university or equivalent experience.
- Between 2 and 5 years of project coordination experience, preferably in fast-paced environments supporting network hardware or data center operations.
- Understanding of data center lifecycles and experience handling large-scale networking projects.
- Proven ability to develop productive working relationships internally and externally.
- Sound judgment according to established procedures in determining appropriate actions.
- Knowledge of project management, conflict resolution, and schedule adherence.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and documentation communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and assignments effectively.
- Self-motivated learner capable of mastering new tools, processes, and technologies with little guidance.
- Experience in preparing spreadsheets, presentations, and project/process documentation.
- Strong analytical and observational capabilities including data collection, detailed information management, metric tracking, and risk management.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and communicate project updates effectively to executives.
Compensation and Location
This full-time position is located on-site near Lubbock, Texas. Base salary ranges from $70,000 to $115,000 annually, tailored to the candidate’s experience, skills, location, and market benchmarks while maintaining internal equity. Compensation may be supplemented by an annual discretionary bonus and an extensive health and wellness benefits package.
