Production Planning and Control Executive

Overview

Hindustan Platinum is seeking a Production Planning and Control Executive responsible for orchestrating the production processes of Finished Goods (FG) and Semi-Finished Goods (SFG). This role ensures that customer demands and sales forecasts are met through effective scheduling, inventory management, and coordination across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer sales orders and forecast data.
• Organize production timelines to align with delivery commitments for FG and SFG.
• Maintain optimal stock levels of raw materials, work in progress (WIP), finished goods, and metal inventory at the end of each month.
• Collaborate closely with Procurement, Production, Sales, and Warehouse teams to facilitate smooth production flow.
• Track ongoing production progress, adjusting schedules proactively to accommodate shifts in demand or capacity constraints.
• Conduct demand planning and forecast analysis aimed at improving production efficiency.
• Implement Material Requirement Planning (MRP) strategies to secure timely availability of inputs.
• Participate actively in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle to balance demand and supply effectively.
• Analyze production statistics and generate comprehensive reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and management information systems (MIS) documentation.
• Identify bottlenecks within the production process and propose operational enhancements.
• Leverage ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle) for production planning and inventory control.
• Uphold and document procedures in line with organizational policies related to production planning.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in Production Planning and Control (PPC) methodologies.
• Strong capability in demand forecasting and analytical interpretation.
• Proficiency in scheduling techniques to meet delivery requirements.
• Experience with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
• Knowledge of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) systems.
• Competent in the use of ERP software platforms like SAP and Oracle.
• Capacity for inventory management across multiple stock categories.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, and data visualization.
• Analytical thinking combined with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Effective cross-team communication and coordination skills.
• Strong organizational and planning proficiency.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience

• A minimum of 3 years and up to 8 years of professional experience in Production Planning & Control, Supply Chain Management, or Manufacturing Planning within a manufacturing setting.
