Role Overview

The company is seeking a Product Specialist to support the Zambian ceramics factory in building and improving new product lines. The role centers on gathering market insights, analyzing sales performance, and helping launch strong products that meet customer demand and support department targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain close coordination with the factory and the product manager.
• Complete product tasks assigned by the product manager and remind the factory about customer deliveries.
• Prepare reports on new design research and new design samples.
• Run weekly product meetings with overseas teams and share weekly updates by email.
• Collect customer feedback on new products and track changes in customer preferences.
• Provide weekly updates on new competing products and any changes in competitor offerings.
• Share weekly information on products from importers.
• Visit the market twice a week to understand customer needs and turn insights into product design ideas.
• Support the end-to-end development of new products, from design research and factory proofing through field research and report preparation.
• Coordinate production schedules, notify sales and customers about product visuals, and follow up on new product samples and market sales.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on time and send them to the product manager, sales team, and market team.

Requirements

• A university degree in a relevant field is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in product design is needed, along with strong knowledge of tiles.
• Strong spoken and written English skills are essential.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is expected.
• The ideal candidate should work well in a team, communicate clearly, and perform effectively with little or no supervision.
• Good problem-solving ability and strong team coordination skills are important.
• Candidates with FMCG experience are especially encouraged to apply.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Lusaka, Lusaka Province, Zambia.
