Role Overview
The Process Excellence Team Leader will spearhead initiatives that enhance process quality by implementing Continuous Improvement methods to drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost efficiency. This role includes managing daily team leadership, providing coaching and development, and fostering continuous improvement practices sustainably across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute Process Excellence projects ensuring lasting improvements across cost, quality, productivity, service, and operations.
- Advocate for workplace safety and 5S culture through audits and by exemplifying best practices.
- Analyze, map, and improve business processes, aiding in developing and standardizing SOPs and work procedures.
- Enhance performance by managing KPIs, visual management systems, and systematically addressing performance gaps.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement utilizing Lean, Kaizen, and structured problem-solving methods.
- Collaborate with Finance and stakeholders to validate and track business benefits and cost savings.
- Maintain standards, documentation, reporting, and governance related to Process Excellence methodologies and projects.
- Work with cross-site teams to share best practices and support aligned continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build continuous improvement capabilities through coaching, promoting frontline accountability and embedding CI as a core approach.
- Directly lead, coach, and manage the work prioritization and performance of team members.
- Align improvement priorities with leadership and execute accordingly.
- Undertake additional duties and participate in special projects, including occasional travel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Chemistry, Operations, or related disciplines.
- Fluent German language skills at C1 or C2 level are mandatory.
- Proven experience leading continuous improvement efforts in technical, manufacturing, laboratory, supply chain, or operational contexts.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification required; Black Belt preferred.
- Leadership expertise involving coaching, mentoring, and managing team performance.
- In-depth knowledge of Lean, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence methodologies.
- Experience facilitating Kaizen events, process mapping, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving.
- Strong analytical thinking, decision-making abilities, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across functions and organizational levels effectively.
- Competence in developing, monitoring, and interpreting KPIs and performance metrics.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
