Role Overview
The Pre-Sales Engineer position involves providing expert technical guidance and collaborating closely with the Sales team to drive business growth through technical solution design, account strategies, and customer training.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead technical authority on the design and implementation of company products and services.
- Partner with Sales to devise and execute targeted account penetration plans to meet business objectives.
- Develop tailored sales and service plans aligned with company offerings for specific accounts.
- Assist the Sales team by qualifying prospects, delivering technical evaluations, solution demonstrations, and proposal presentations throughout the sales process.
- Lead and oversee proof of concept (POC) initiatives and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFP), advancing deals from pre-sales to implementation phases.
- Establish and nurture strong working relationships with partners and customers to support sales goals.
- Conduct technical sales discussions and calls effectively.
- Drive product adoption, integration, and value realization within customer and partner IT environments.
- Complete pre-sales documentation accurately and promptly.
- Create educational materials and provide training and support to partners and clients.
- Respond to after-hours technical support inquiries during assigned rotations and escalate as necessary.
- Utilize systems such as salesforce.com CRM for lead, opportunity, and deal management to ensure operational consistency and efficiency.
- Leverage knowledge and experience with Lenovo ThinkSystem, ThinkAgile, and various storage products.
- Apply expertise with Dell, HP, IBM compute, infrastructure, and storage solutions.
- Possess familiarity with hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) platforms including Dell, Nutanix, and VMware vSAN.
- Demonstrate understanding of cloud integration and hybrid infrastructure deployments.
- Hold relevant industry certifications such as those from Lenovo, Dell, VMware, Nutanix, and Microsoft.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in relevant technical sales or engineering roles.
