Platform Engineer (m/w/d)

Role Overview

As a Platform Engineer, you will play a vital role in our platform engineering initiative. Your main responsibility is to assist in automating, scaling, and maintaining the infrastructure of our Internal Developer Platform (IDP) to provide developers with an outstanding Development Experience. Based on your location, you can work either twice a week onsite at our headquarters in Erkrath or fully remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Automate cloud infrastructure leveraging Terraform and OpenTofu.
• Maintain cloud architecture and contribute to cloud networking topics.
• Participate in implementing governance frameworks and provide on-call support to ensure core service stability and performance.
• Help shape the observability stack and resolve infrastructure-level issues.
• Provide technical support for upcoming cloud migration projects.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in public cloud environments, preferably Azure, with confidence in using Terraform and Helm.
• Experience operating containerized applications on Kubernetes and familiarity with GitLab is advantageous.
• Willingness to participate in on-call duties is mandatory.
• Desirable exposure to networking concepts, with opportunities to develop skills further.
• Strong understanding of functional dependencies within distributed systems.
• Excellent German language skills (C1/C2) and good English proficiency (minimum B2) for close teamwork and technical coordination.
