Job Overview
This Pharmacy Dispenser role places you as an important part of our in-store pharmacy team at Boots UK. In this position, you will support pharmacists and healthcare professionals to guarantee safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy services. You will engage closely with patients, ensuring attentive listening and understanding of their needs as you dispense prescriptions, manage medicine sales safely, and offer knowledgeable advice for optimal health decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately while ensuring safe medicine supply through ordering, labeling, endorsing, and prescription collection.
- Collaborate with pharmacy professionals to manage and deliver pharmacy services effectively within the store.
- Offer care and guidance concerning medications to patients, referring complex queries to the Pharmacist.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to support legal and safe dispensing practices.
- Stay current with new innovations and comply with operational processes in the pharmacy.
- Assist patients in managing their prescriptions with reliable systems to encourage adherence and minimize waste.
Development and Technology
You will work with evolving technologies and new dispensing systems aimed at enhancing patient safety and freeing up time to engage more with patients. Regular training and knowledge development sessions will be provided, along with opportunities for career growth such as qualifying as a Pharmacy Technician or moving into store leadership.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- Completed Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 or equivalent, or have completed at least the first year of an MPharm degree.
- Possess valid UK right to work; this role does not support Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
- Community pharmacy experience would be advantageous.

This position is strictly store-based within the UK; remote work is not accommodated, and applications from outside the UK require validated UK qualifications and right-to-work status.
