This role requires the candidate to work on-site at least three days weekly, with offices based in Munich or Berlin. Applicants residing elsewhere in Germany may opt for a remote working arrangement.
Role Overview
The Payroll Support Specialist will play a crucial role in delivering expert assistance related to payroll processes. This role demands strong attention to detail and a customer-centric approach to resolve payroll inquiries promptly and accurately. The successful candidate will handle complex cases and quality assurance tasks while cooperatively working with different departments to enhance payroll workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized support for payroll operations, ensuring compliance and efficient use of payroll system features.
- Maintain payroll procedures that align with internal policies and statutory requirements.
- Continuously update knowledge of relevant payroll laws and technology advances to improve processes and customer experience.
- Respond efficiently to customer queries through multiple communication channels, providing clear, empathetic guidance.
- Offer customers access to self-help resources, including comprehensive help articles and documentation.
- Manage prioritization and resolution of numerous client requests simultaneously.
- Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Implementation, and Professional Services teams to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions.
- Contribute to maintaining and enhancing both internal and external knowledge bases and Help Center content.
- Engage in projects with cross-functional teams aimed at optimizing payroll services and customer support operations.
- Use analytical thinking to identify deficiencies in payroll products and procedures, proposing innovative improvements.
- Maintain composure and effectiveness during high-pressure periods or escalated situations.
- Pursue ongoing professional growth through internal training and staying abreast of industry and regulatory developments.
Candidate Requirements
- Deep expertise in payroll processing, compliance standards, and quality assurance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including professional conflict management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude for handling complex payroll challenges.
- Effective time management and multitasking skills.
- Team-oriented attitude with experience collaborating across multiple departments.
- Native-level proficiency in German (C2 or equivalent) and fluency in English for business communication.
