Passenger Transportation Driver - Qatar Aviation Services

General Overview

This position involves driving and operating heavy and light passenger transportation vehicles within airport grounds to ensure exceptional logistics and passenger transport services, aligned with company policies and ground handling agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate designated vehicles including heavy and light passenger transport buses following airport driving standard operating procedures and health and safety protocols.
• Utilize onboard system tools and applications for efficient passenger transport services.
• Practice safe work methods to avoid incidents or service disruptions.
• Deliver courteous and professional customer service by operating automated stop announcements, addressing passenger inquiries, and providing journey-related information.
• Perform duties such as passenger boarding and alighting, assisting special needs passengers, and managing baggage handling with care.
• Plan transportation resources by profiling flights requiring passenger transport well in advance.
• Maintain accurate shifts and task records, including flight details, gate numbers, timings, and zone allocations, using manifests and digital devices.
• Ensure vehicles are driven and maintained safely per company processes and airport regulations.
• Conduct vehicle pre- and post-shift inspections, documenting condition and reporting defects or discrepancies such as cleanliness, audio-visual systems, communication devices, or signage issues.
• Report any vehicle accidents promptly in writing to supervisors.
• Communicate challenges in transportation operations immediately for swift resolution to maintain schedule adherence.
• Ensure vehicles are fueled and washed as per schedules.
• Transport airside staff and manage hand baggage and passenger coaches per daily allocation to meet service standards.
• Maintain vehicles in clean, presentable, and roadworthy condition according to company standards.
• Stay updated on and comply with all relevant driving SOPs, policies, directives, routes, and stops at Hamad International and Doha International Airports.
• Observe personal grooming and hygiene standards per company guidelines during shifts.
• Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders and shift supervisors through radios and phones to coordinate transportation tasks.
• Exemplify professionalism, prudence, and safety in a diverse workplace environment as a representative of Qatar Aviation Services.
• Perform other departmental duties as directed by management.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum educational qualification: High school diploma with at least 1 year of relevant work experience, or Bachelor’s degree without prior experience.
• Possession of a heavy vehicle driving license from home country is mandatory.
• Capability to obtain Qatari heavy vehicle license.
• Qualified to acquire an Airport Vehicle Operator Pass (AVOP).
• Solid understanding of traffic safety laws and regulations.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Demonstrated professionalism in communication, customer service excellence, time management, respect, ethics, and integrity.
• Proven ability to identify and meet customer needs with high-quality service.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to contribute positively to team dynamics.
