Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Odoo Developer responsible for developing, implementing, customizing, and integrating Odoo ERP applications with other systems. The role also includes providing ongoing support and enhancing current solutions to support the company’s operational processes and functions.

Main Responsibilities

• Carry out development tasks in Odoo including customization, code migration, data migration and import, utilizing Odoo APIs, preparing BI reports, output documents, and performing functional, user acceptance, automation, and unit testing.
• Analyze and clarify functional requirements and prepare technical specifications; design the technical architecture and implement business logic.
• Collaborate closely with the Technical Lead to plan, design, develop, test, deploy, support, and improve various business application features.
• Understand business needs, participate in project planning, and provide accurate time estimates for required tasks.
• Utilize the Odoo Framework and its components to develop applications.
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs, optimize system performance, and provide production support.
• Take part in Sprint meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, scopes, and contribute to Sprint reports.
• Adhere to programming standards and best development practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Implement modern development approaches such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.
• Evaluate the impact of potential modifications and customizations on core Odoo applications, proposing solutions to mitigate negative effects.
• Prepare and document technical solutions using documentation, flowcharts, algorithms, data flow diagrams, and user flow diagrams while maintaining organized, maintainable code.
• Keep abreast of latest development tools, cloud services, and modern technical concepts.
• Create technical documentation to support future development projects.
• Work collaboratively in a team spirit while demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong understanding of Odoo MVC architecture.
• 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience developing and configuring Odoo applications and modules, covering areas such as Sales, Purchase, HR, Inventory, Accounting, eCommerce, QWeb Reporting, and Odoo APIs.
• Good knowledge of latest Odoo versions and ORM API.
• Familiarity with Odoo Enterprise solutions.
• Experienced with development environments like PyCharm or Eclipse.
• Knowledge of Odoo App Store and renowned developers like OCA.
• Proficient in code optimization, performance tuning, and technical architecture.
• Experience working with Scrum and Agile methodologies.
• Proficient in Python, JavaScript, and XML.
• Willingness to learn new languages and frameworks.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Practical experience with Linux/Unix environments.
• Skilled with version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket, including branching and merging.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to make sound technical decisions related to ERP solutions.
• Experience writing SQL queries on PostgreSQL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Odoo installation and setup.
• Familiarity with the odoo.sh platform.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of internet technologies such as SSH, SFTP, FTP, and Linux/Unix shell scripting (Bash).
• Good grasp of object-oriented design principles, web services, RESTful APIs, and design patterns.
• Understanding of cloud services including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
• Preference for candidates residing within Saudi Arabia.
