Ocean Freight Clearance Executive

About the Role

Join Logistiq, a progressive logistics company under Landmark Group in the GCC, as an Ocean Freight Clearance Executive based in Dubai. This role involves overseeing customs clearance for both Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL) ocean shipments, ensuring adherence to UAE Customs regulations and internal procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customs clearance processes for FCL and LCL shipments by preparing and submitting import, export, re-export, and transit declarations.
• Collaborate actively with customs authorities, port operators, and other government bodies to secure timely shipment clearance and approvals.
• Provide precise verification of shipping documentation such as Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, and permits.
• Perform accurate classification of cargo using HS Codes, calculate applicable customs duties, VAT, and other fees.
• Maintain updated and thorough customs records to support audits and compliance checks.
• Cooperate with stakeholders including shipping lines, freight agents, customers, and internal teams to monitor shipment progress and resolve clearance issues efficiently.
• Support operational teams by monitoring shipment clearance timelines and ensuring cargo release complies with agreed service levels.
• Continuously identify and implement improvements to customs clearance workflows and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications & Skills

• Possess a bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
• Have 2 to 4 years of practical experience in ocean freight customs clearance within the UAE, including familiarity with FCL and LCL shipments.
• Strong understanding of UAE Customs regulations, freight forwarding, and documentation requirements.
• Proficient in HS Code classification, customs valuation, duty, VAT calculation, and UAE customs systems.
• Effective in Microsoft Office applications.
• Exhibit excellent attention to detail coupled with superior communication and stakeholder coordination capabilities.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving aptitude and the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines concurrently.
• Customer-oriented mindset focusing on timely and efficient service delivery.
