The Department of War Education Activity (DOWEA) is seeking a qualified nurse to provide health education and medical support within a school environment at Fort Moore, GA. This role focuses on both individual and classroom health education and emergency care for students during school hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom-based instruction and offer one-on-one health education and counseling to students.
• Administer emergency first aid and care for illnesses or injuries occurring during school sessions, following established protocols.
• Maintain comprehensive health records and documentation.
• Work collaboratively with educators and school staff to evaluate students' health conditions.
• Contribute to the development, management, and assessment of a holistic school health program.

Mandatory Requirements

• Male candidates born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement fulfilling Selective Service obligations.
• Proof of U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and successful passing of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), OR
• Bachelor’s degree in a field other than nursing combined with a current, active, unrestricted professional nurse license from a U.S. state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory. Nurses from Puerto Rico must provide NCLEX passing proof.

Education Equivalency for Foreign Degrees

Applicants presenting foreign credentials must have their education evaluated by an accredited agency to confirm equivalency to an accredited U.S. program or show that full credit was awarded by a U.S. institution.
