Role Overview

We invite experienced, value-driven candidates to express interest for a Non-Executive Director position to join our Board. This role is part of our strategic board renewal, with consideration for future Chair succession. As a Director, you will contribute crucial strategic insights and governance expertise to help shape the organisation’s growth and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing and overseeing strategic direction.
  • Enhancing organisational performance and ensuring long-term viability.
  • Managing risks across financial, clinical, and operational domains.
  • Providing constructive support to the CEO and executive team.
  • Maintaining robust governance and leadership aligned with core values.

Desired Skills and Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in at least one of the following areas:

  • Leadership in clinical or allied health sectors.
  • Senior management or ownership experience within health or human services industries.
  • Operational oversight of multidisciplinary teams including HR, IT, and finance.
  • Strong strategic financial understanding and commercial insight.
  • Governance, risk management, and compliance experience in regulated settings.

Additional advantageous experience includes:

  • Board leadership roles such as Chair or Committee Chair positions.
  • Knowledge of government, policy, and funding structures.
  • Membership with professional governance bodies like the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Expectations for Board Members

  • Participation in at least six Board meetings annually.
  • Active involvement in a Board Sub-Committee.
  • Contribution to strategic planning, immersions, and occasional ad hoc matters.
  • Thorough preparation and constructive engagement during meetings.
  • Representation as a SensesWA ambassador reflecting its purpose.
