About the Role
The Network and Community Lead will spearhead the development and management of Youth+ Africa's community structures across both online and offline environments. This position involves crafting strategies to engage a diverse network including founders, creators, students, mentors, partners, and key ecosystem influencers. The incumbent will focus on generating impactful opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and growth within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement strategic plans aimed at expanding and activating Youth+ Africa’s community engagement.
- Cultivate and maintain a robust network comprising founders, creators, students, mentors, partners, and ambassadors.
- Design comprehensive member journeys that facilitate progression from initial contact to active involvement and leadership roles.
- Manage onboarding processes, promote sustained engagement, and lead initiatives to retain and invigorate the community.
- Transform event attendees into committed community participants via systematic engagement activities.
- Plan and coordinate various community-focused programs including workshops, founder circles, networking events, and mentorship schemes.
- Develop and oversee networks of mentors, facilitators, and subject-matter experts across relevant sectors.
- Work alongside internal teams to implement partner-supported programs and enriching community experiences.
- Utilize data analysis, insights, and reporting tools to monitor community health and improve engagement outcomes.
- Promote an inclusive, supportive, and trusted community atmosphere aligned with Youth+ Africa's core values.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Communications, Community Development, Marketing, Business, Social Sciences, Entrepreneurship, or similar disciplines.
- Minimum of four years' experience in community management, ecosystem development, program coordination, partnership cultivation, or stakeholder engagement.
- Proven track record in establishing and managing professional or entrepreneurial communities.
- Excellent project management and organizational capabilities.
- Strong skills in relationship-building, communication, and facilitation.
- Experience with startups, innovation ecosystems, youth-focused entities, universities, or developmental programs is beneficial.
- Proficient in analyzing community data to inform engagement tactics and strategic decisions.
- Highly self-motivated, collaborative, and dedicated to advancing youth entrepreneurship and development.
