Overview

This opportunity is shared through a hiring partner, and that partner will oversee all applications and subsequent hiring steps. The employer is seeking a Network Administrator in Canada to help keep enterprise IT systems reliable, secure, and ready to scale.

The role sits at the center of infrastructure operations and improvement. You will work on the stability and performance of essential network and server environments, assist with new technology rollouts, resolve technical problems, and support users when issues escalate. The position calls for quick thinking, strong technical judgment, and comfort working in a fast-moving, collaborative setting.

What You Will Do

• Set up, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot servers, networking equipment, and associated infrastructure.
• Investigate and fix difficult problems across systems, networks, and user-facing environments.
• Take ownership of escalated service desk cases and close incidents efficiently.
• Assist with the setup, configuration, and validation of tailored IT solutions across different platforms.
• Work with vendors and external service providers to support performance and issue resolution.
• Participate in IT initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, and other improvement projects.
• Keep technical records accurate, including configuration details and operating procedures.
• Suggest improvements, plan maintenance activities, and contribute to long-term optimization of systems.
• Stay informed about new technologies and current best practices to help advance IT services.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should bring a solid background in network administration, systems support, and IT operations within a complex enterprise setting. You must be able to solve technical issues calmly and effectively, even under pressure.

• Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, or a similar field, along with 4+ years of relevant experience in IT operations or network administration.
• Strong grasp of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, VLANs, SAN, and security protocols.
• Practical experience with Windows Server environments, virtualization tools such as Hyper-V and VMware, and enterprise systems.
• Hands-on exposure to switches, firewalls, and endpoint security tools.
• Knowledge of IT service management approaches such as ITIL is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage priorities effectively in demanding situations.
• Clear communication skills and a strong customer-service mindset.
• Self-motivated, detail-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to join on-call rotations, work maintenance windows, and occasionally work off-site.
