Job description
About the Role
Join a rapidly expanding insurtech firm dedicated to revolutionizing the way insurers develop, operate, and oversee their actuarial and financial models. If you are an actuary seeking to move beyond outdated systems and contribute to creating the next generation of tools for insurers, this position is ideal for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, develop, and validate actuarial models that inform important decisions related to forecasting, risk management, pricing strategies, and capital allocation.
- Analyze intricate data sets to extract meaningful insights beyond mere data outputs.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including product managers, technology experts, fellow actuaries, and consultants from top-tier actuarial firms.
- Maintain model precision, efficiency, and compliance readiness in light of changing regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- At least six years of actuarial work experience, preferably with knowledge of IFRS 17, RBC 2, or Solvency II frameworks.
- Practical proficiency with actuarial modeling software such as Prophet, Python programming, SQL databases, and VBA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities coupled with clear communication skills to simplify complex concepts.
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese or Korean is highly desirable due to interaction with regional stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is suited for an actuary comfortable working in a startup environment rather than a traditional insurance company. Success comes to those who embrace uncertainty, enjoy creating procedures from the ground up, prefer innovation over inheritance, and have a keen interest in technology. Ownership mentality and agility in a fast-paced setting are essential.
