Mill Labourer

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Mill Labourer to join the team at Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario (Onaping). This is a full-time, permanent, unionized role offering an hourly wage of $38.37 with eligibility for bonuses. Please note, the worksite is not accessible via public transit.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to the Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations safety protocols and the Internal Responsibility System.
• Engage in relevant training and execute duties within the Sustainable Development Management System framework, including environmental management compliance.
• Gather necessary tools, equipment, and materials for tasks; inspect work areas and report any irregularities to supervisors or operators.
• Maintain cleanliness by spreading sweeping compound, sweeping, hosing, shoveling, and transporting materials via wheelbarrow.
• Support operators and attendants with their duties as needed.
• Remove unwanted materials such as metal, wood, plastic, rubber, and oversized rock, disposing of them correctly.
• Provide verbal reports to supervisors regarding assigned tasks.
• Clear snow from walkways and entrances; apply road salt to prevent slipping as necessary.
• Carry out additional related duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile

The role requires working 12-hour shifts in a sensitive operational environment. Commitment to health, safety, ongoing training, and continuous enhancement is vital for success.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possession of a Grade 12 Diploma is mandatory; post-secondary education is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical reasoning abilities accompanied by troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills are essential.
