Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer to create and develop mechanical parts including sheet metal enclosures, structural frames, and bus bar arrangements specifically for switchgear products, using Autodesk Inventor software.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop mechanical assemblies such as sheet metal cases, structural frames, bus bar arrangements, insulation supports, and assemblies for MV and LV electrical switchgears.
• Model 3D mechanical components and assemblies by leveraging Autodesk Inventor.
• Establish and maintain a shared common parts catalog.
• Analyze and interpret engineering requirements to generate accurate and compliant technical drawings.
• Prepare drawings through reverse engineering approaches when required.
• Collaborate closely with the production team to resolve design-related challenges.
• Conduct thermal and structural analyses including heat dissipation calculations to ensure product reliability.
• Produce manufacturing dimensions necessary for fabrication processes.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 to 6 years of relevant design engineering experience.
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong foundational knowledge in engineering principles and technical expertise.
• Proficiency in CAD software, specifically Autodesk Inventor.
• Familiarity with geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing standards.
• Understanding of electrical switchgear design for medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) applications.
