About the Role
The Manager - Financial Analysis position reports to the FP&A Director and plays a pivotal role in supporting financial planning and analysis activities for Lilly Canada. This role involves strategic budget management, preparing detailed sales forecasts, updating revenue models according to demand trends, and aligning supply appropriately. You will manage scorecard reporting, analyze competitive market conditions, and contribute to decisions made by product teams.
The position is based in Toronto on a hybrid work model, requiring onsite presence at least 10 days per month, or as mutually agreed with your manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, forecasting, and reporting for assigned business unit including full P&L management throughout the product lifecycle.
- Oversee quarterly forecasting and yearly business planning for revenues and operating expenses ensuring alignment across departments.
- Maintain accurate demand forecasts and update financial models reflecting current market trends and performance metrics.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial analysis and variance reports to senior leadership.
- Ensure punctual and precise financial submissions, managing reconciliations and accrual processes.
- Utilize artificial intelligence to enhance modeling accuracy, automate repetitive tasks, and develop sophisticated financial models featuring sensitivity and scenario analysis to guide strategic planning.
- Build a deep understanding of financial performance drivers, offering actionable insights and advising on strategic trade-offs.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Pricing, and Supply Chain teams to provide market intelligence supporting pricing and supply chain decisions.
- Construct business cases for pricing approvals and commercial initiatives, assisting leadership and brand teams with decision-making support.
- Monitor and assess competitive landscape dynamics and implications of regulatory or economic shifts.
- Maintain high ethical standards, fiscal responsibility, and a strong sense of business ownership.
Required Qualifications
- Between 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in business analytics or related fields.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industries is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent collaboration capabilities and a flexible, adaptable approach to work.
- Strong capacity for learning agility and achieving results through teamwork.
- Proven critical thinking and problem-solving proficiency.
- Committed to continuous improvement by leveraging AI tools to innovate, streamline processes, and foster a culture of learning.
Education and Certifications
- Certified Accountant (CA/CPA) qualification mandatory.
- MBA degree or equivalent advanced education preferred.
- Demonstrated prior experience in financial or procurement roles.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this role is from $79,500 to $137,500 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation forms, such as participation in the Lilly Bonus Program, are available.
