Position Overview
The Manager of Enterprise Risk Management plays a crucial role in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks throughout the organization's operations. This individual is the key contact for managing contracts, overseeing insurance programs, and handling claims administration. Close collaboration with Legal, Operations, Finance, and senior leadership is essential to safeguard the organization's interests, ensure adherence to regulations, and support strategic business activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, negotiate, and manage risk-related contract provisions including indemnity, liability, and insurance terms; collaborate with legal and department heads to develop standard templates and approved language libraries.
- Lead annual insurance renewal processes, working closely with brokers and underwriters to assess coverage needs, prepare submissions, and keep policy documentation current.
- Manage claims from inception to resolution by coordinating investigations, liaising with adjusters and defense attorneys, monitoring reserves, escalating significant exposures, and pursuing subrogation.
- Develop and deliver training on risk management topics such as contract risk, incident reporting, insurance requirements, and claims handling; partner with HR and Compliance for integration into onboarding and continuous learning.
- Perform regular enterprise risk assessments to identify emerging threats and insurance gaps; support business continuity and disaster recovery planning; research and apply best practices to enhance risk management.
- Support legal due diligence in transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing activities; review all relevant documents like title commitments and environmental reports; maintain closing checklists and manage post-closing compliance.
- Coordinate compliance activities including audits, regulatory filings, real estate licensing, and monitor legal developments to ensure organizational adherence to laws and regulations.
- Undertake other assigned duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- At least five years of progressive experience in risk management, insurance, claims, legal, or compliance roles.
- Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts focusing on indemnification, insurance, and liability clauses.
- Practical experience managing commercial insurance policies, renewals, and handling multi-line claims.
- Deep understanding of commercial insurance products, policy terms, and risk transfer techniques.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities combined with excellent communication skills to explain complex risk issues.
- Capability to manage diverse priorities and engage multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
- High levels of professional integrity, judgment, discretion, and meticulous attention to detail.
